This page shows samples of our work, discusses pricing, and illustrates the difference between a custom website and a User- Managed Website.

Potential customers expect to have an unlimited amount of information available about your products, services, and company. Successful internet marketing includes several crucial components.

  • Attractive and Organized website created by an expert in the field
  • E-Commerce capabilities where applicable

  • High rankings on Google, Yahoo, and MSN
  • Link Exchange with other related companies
  • Dynamic and applicable support section

It's not enough anymore to have a website designed by a good designer. Context is Good, but Content is King. Having your website designed by someone with years of experince in the energy business can inspire confidence and generate sales. The Energy Grid offers a unique combination of skills and experience, not available elsewhere.

Web development involves a design element and a technology component. Here are some samples of our work.

Is the Energy Grid Just for
             Energy Websites
?

                        No!

We can design any type of website in any
industry. The difference is that when we're
designing an energy website, we can
provide all the content. In depth knowledge
of the industry allows for quality content
 which we can develop.

In other industries, the client provides the
content. What I know about granola bars
you could fit inside a raisin.

This illustrates the difference between a simple Custom Website and a User-Managed Website. On the left, a custom website, costing about $2,000, was designed. Changes and updates required knowledge of Dreamweaver and were chargable. On the right, a User-Managed site cost $500-$1000 to create and $9.95/month to host (14.95 for a solar-powered site). Features like the poll and built-in search box are included.

This website, TheEnergyGrid.com is a custom website. It includes a Flash entry page and a relatively simple template design on the inside. The "Energy Bookstore" is an Amazon store -- The Energy Grid gets a commission from books sold there.

Inside the site is a brief streaming video component Watch the Clip, and a link to a Google Shopping Cart (http://theenergygrid.com/qb14500), an effective way to sell/accept credit cards.

The cost of a site similar to this one would be in the $5,000 range.

Typically, the design of a website is determined based on the look and feel of the company, and the way that the company would like to be presented.

Nextek Power Website by Mark C Robinson

The website at www.NextekPower.com is a content-rich custom website. The website uses Flash graphics in the header at the top of the page and has several Flash demonstrations of the technology on the 'how it works' page.

On the 'ballast' pages is a shopping cart (complete on-line store) with a link to each product discription, allowing site users to buy this company's products.

The cost of a website like this, including writing the copy, is between $5,000 and $7,000. The Flash animations were about $4,000 each and a shopping cart costs about $2,500.

This series illustrates the power of a User-Managed Website Template. The four images below are the same website, but with a different template. GreenTagExchange.com is a demo website where you can go, log in, and experiment. The "Template Chooser" will allow you to switch between these templates. There are hundreds of templates to choose from, each one customizable to your needs. Typically, the setup of a website like is is $495.00.

It is not uncommon to choose from a list of several thousand customizable templates. Starting with these templates and customizing as needed, we can create an excellent site that accurately represents your business.

The technology of the site is where most of the work is done.

  • Websites can include components such as:
  • Secure Shopping Cart
  • Photo Gallery
  • Mailing List Sign Up
  • Blog
  • Discussion Forums
  • Wiki Reference Guides
  • Search Engines
  • Navigation technologies that help a user find what they are looking for
  • Games, Banners, Live Chat, Animation
  • ... and much more

Each of these functions can be either outsourced or integrated. A shopping cart can be outsourced to PayPal and a Search Engine can be outsourced to Google. There are drawbacks and benefits that need to be weighed for each.

HandicappedPets.com is a family of full-scale e-commerce websites with all of the best features of the web built in including a photo gallery, active discussion forum, shopping cart, and much more. The site receives over 15,000 visitors daily based on intensive search engine coverage.
